Explanatory Answer

Method of solving this CAT Quantitative Ability Question from Geometry question

Correct Option: C

Solution:

As non-parallel sides are equal. Let the non-parallel sides be x cm.

Now there are 6 faces:- 2 faces are trapezoid and 4 faces are rectangular.

Area of trapezium :

(a and b are the sum of parallel sides,h is the height or distance between parallel sides.)

Area of 2 trapeziums =

Area of rectangles= base x height.

Area of 4 rectangles = = 2[13 × 20] + 20(20) + 10(20) = 1120 cm2

Total area = 1120 + 360 = 1480 cm2
