Explanatory Answer

Method of solving this CAT DILR Question from Data Sufficiency question

(a) x can be obtained by using the information provided by both ‘I’ & ‘II’

using ‘I’ we get x= 4 , 12

Using ‘II’

we get that x is only a multiple of 2 and not of 3. Using both we get x = 4

OR pdt of two nos. = LCM × HCF = 18 × 4 = 72

=> x = 72/18 = 4
